This is a really great idea. I just started experimenting with digital painting on Photoshop and I can't think of anything more helpful and inspiring than this. Thanks!
Nice piece Joe, love the simplicity in your rendering, especially around the chin and neck area. Also, really cool take on his eye lids . . . sweet job!
Joe, can't thank you enough for showing your technique like this, it's really fascinating and in a way quite reassuring as I do things in a pretty similar way (although not in the same league). Top stuff, cheers from another QOTS fan :D
This is great. It's definitely interesting to see your reference photo next to the painting. I also liked in the Tom Cruise one how we could see the layers and you mentioned how you used techniques like using the multiply layer or the soft light. I never would have known about that otherwise. Looking forward to the next one!

Is there a chance that you are going to do a demonstration in Reno?

Wow, saw your post at conceptart.org. Really great stuff!
It's nice to hear your comments while watching. Really makes a difference to the usual mundane, 10x speeded, mute tut videos you see elsewhere.
Keep it up!
